Slacking Slacker

Hey folks.  It's your boy, Lincoln, here.

I've heard rumors of this blog slipping by the wayside, but I didn't realize the extent of it until I took time out of my busy schedule to do some micromanaging.  *Shakes head in disgust*  This is how slacking makes me feel:

This blog is in need of some serious updating. She claims it's been a hectic month of working (too much time already spent looking at the computer screen) and visitors (too much fun), but I think it's been pure laziness (too much slacking!). Things that have occured in the blogger's life that have, up to now, gone unblogged:

- Not one, but TWO trips to Chiang Mai (a city in northern Thailand), one for the Thai holiday, Loi Krathong, and one for that weird period in between Christmas and New Years

- An account of her personal experiences with the Bangkok political protests

- A thrilling Grocery Games involving local flavors of Lay's potato chips

- Highlights from a lovely Christmas and New Years in Thailand with Colleen and Steve

So, keep your eyes peeled for posts on these topics, coming soon.  Very soon.  I'm watching:

Deep Thoughts on Moving

The cats have mixed feelings about moving to Bangkok.

On one hand, Tiga has been helpful with the packing:

On the other hand, she seems blissfully unconcerned about the potential communication problems she might face in Thailand.  She mainly speaks Bahasa Indonesia and barely seems to understand a word of English, so I can't imagine a tonal language like Thai will come easily to her.  She doesn't seem worried:

In contrast, Lincoln has expressed a deep anxiety about his access to kreteks, Indonesian clove cigarettes, once in Thailand.  He's become as addicted as that baby on the internet and is thus trying to squeeze in as much kretek time as possible until the move:

Say What?!

'Sup, ladies.  It's been a long time since I've rapped at ya from this blog.  I've been busy, hangin' around the crib.  Twist ties to chase, beds to lounge on, shorties to wrassle, floors to spin on...

When Meg and Tim told me they were heading back to the U.S.A. for 3 weeks today, leaving us alone, I was all, "Say what?!":

Then I was like, "Hmmph. Fine." and "I don't care.":

We tried to break the news to Tiga in a way she could understand, but she was still all, "Huh?":

"Huuuuuuuh?":

At that point I shook my head and thought to myself, "Sigh. I cannot believe this is my life. It seems I was made to suffer.":

Anyway, Meg says even though she's traveling, she's got some more posts lined up about her trip to Bali with the girls.  I'll just be sitting here by myself in the meantime if anyone wants to bring me catnip or clove cigarettes.

Lincoln, out.

Lincoln's New Favorite Thing

Hey ladies.  It's your boy, Lincoln.

I just want you to know that this is my favorite thing in Indonesia: marble floors and spinning on them.

I love it.

Glamour Shots

Hey girl.  It's your boy Lincoln.  Remember me?  I'm here with my girl, Tiga.

We interrupt the regularly scheduled programming to bring you our latest glamour shots to celebrate the 100th post on my namesake blog.  Whut whut!!

We paused mid-Fight Club for this shot below.  That's all we can say about it, though... the first rule of Fight Club and all that.

Ok, carry on.

Hey.

Hey ladies.  This here is Lincoln, the eponymous author of this blog.  It's been a while, I know.  I heard some of you were asking for me.  I'm not surprised.  I mean, look at me.

Things have been good here in Jakarta.  I get around... couch, bed, bookshelf, even the balcony.  I've met some folks here, including this new chick, Tiga (Indonesian for "three").

She's cool, although occasionally a little, um, energetic for my taste (despite having arrived here with a broken leg after sleeping in the gutters of the mean streets of Jakarta.)

We play.

 We hang out.

We wrestle.

But mostly I spend a lot of time looking at her like she's crazy while she bats at everything.

Lincoln's Update

Hey ladies... I know you haven't heard from me in a while and you're probably suffering for it, so I thought I'd send you some photos to let you know what I've been up to.  I've been very busy.

I've moved on from the cat hotel, although I miss the hospitality and the friends I made.  Now I'm at a temporary apartment, where I spend my time thusly:

Keeping a close eye on Meg.

Finding the most comfortable chair in the place and using it frequently.

Staring out the window.

Cataloging the contents of Meg and Tim's air shipment to ensure it all arrived safely.

Sup.

Sup, ladies?

This here is your boy, Linc, comin' atcha from the red room bed.

I'm loungin', chillaxin' and thinkin' 'bout civet cats and that crazy coffee made from their poop.  Yeah, it's a thing... in Indonesia, baby.  And that's where we're headed...  sweet.

I'll post more here once on my way to the home of batik, orangutans and komodo dragons.

But for now, it's back to nappin'.  Peace.
